The Gardener was started by our passionate founder, Evelyn, who grew up helping her father garden every spring and summer in a remote corner of Maine. After she married an Air Force pilot, his career took them around the world. Gardening in various climates around the globe forced Evelyn to learn new tricks and adapt her techniques. She started this blog to share her secrets with other gardeners, so they too could grow beautiful gardens.

Today, The Gardener has a staff of gardening experts and writers, eager to share tips on everything from how to build a green roof to how often to water your succulents. We hope you’ll find our advice helpful, and we’re always here if you have questions or comments on anything!
